Provider verification
Every provider goes through a multi-step verification process before they can take paid bookings.
- Phone number with OTP confirmation
- Selfie photo matched to government ID
- NIN slip, Voter's Card, or Driver's License upload
- Manual admin review within 24 hours
- "Verified" badge on profile once approved
Escrow payments
Near-U never lets the provider walk away with your money before the job is done.
- Client pays via Paystack at booking
- Near-U holds the funds in escrow
- Provider only gets paid after the job is confirmed complete
- Auto-release after the dispute window closes with no dispute raised (48 h on Basic, 7 days on Pro)
- Full refund mechanics for cancelled or disputed jobs
Dispute resolution
If something goes wrong, you don't fight it alone. Near-U mediates fairly between both parties.
- Either party can raise a dispute within the booking's dispute window
- Both parties submit evidence (photos, messages, receipts)
- Admin reviews — typically within 24 hours
- Outcomes: full refund, partial refund, release to provider, or split
- Repeat offenders are suspended; bad actors are permanently banned

Encryption
All traffic is HTTPS-only. ID numbers are stored as hashes — never plaintext.
